Onan 7.5 KW Propane
Generator
2 thousand gallon propane tanks . In the winter when
sunlight is shortest, the
generator is run for about an hour and a half which runs a 36" TV,
a 20" IMac, fax, printer, refrigerator, water pump,
lights, and every few days, usually when the sun is
shining, the dishwasher or a load of clothes will be run.
The dryer heats with propane. Heat is coal stove
primarily, but the propane furnace is handy.
The location would support a wind generator but you
would need a good sized tower as the house sits just
below a ridge line. |
The barn has a hay loft and
chicken coop with a fenced area. A shaded run-in shed opens to roughly four acres
of fenced pasture. Wildlife is abundant. |

The spring fed pond also has a
stream that runs through it year round which keeps it cool and fresh. Another
benefit is that it was dug almost straight down (about 10 feet) which works to
prevent unwanted vegetative growth. |
The pond has two docks, a tree
fort and rope swing!
